Cumberland, MD 7/9/12 - Former Western Maryland SD-40 7471 is once again on home rails, running along what was once WM's Connellsville Subdivision. Having hauled Alpha-Jet trailer trains and coal drags over this line from 1968 to 1976, WM 7471 has wandered far over the following 3 decades. Now brought home by the Georges Creek Railway, it had the privilege to once again ride its heritage along the current Western Maryland Scenic Railroad for a special photo charter. Timed 18mm photo: ISO 2000, f/7.1, 5.0 seconds.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
