Remarks & Notes |
Every summer Heritage railways in the UK try to find attractions for visitors. One of the most common is the "Wartime Weekend" when all staff dress in the 1940's style and French resistance workers mingle with Nazi officers and GI's on stations and trackside. The Weardale railway held such an event last weekend and used a borrowed steam locomotive to haul its coaches. The diesel multiple unit they also used was a shade incongrous to say the least. here the borrowed locomotive crosses the river wear on its way to Stanhope and the end of the line. |
