| Believe it or not, this is the famed Brooklyn Roundhouse. In any photo from the past this photo would include the SP4449 right in front and the SPS 700 next to it but with all the locomotives and equiptment vacated, it's a just hollow shell full of memories. The new facility is still being built and the process is slow but sure, but not fast enough leaving all the equiptment such as the 4449, and 700 out in the elements. It's a sure sign that the times are changing ending 102 years of Southern Pacific History. Goodbye Brooklyn 1910-2012. To find out more of how you can help click HERE to visit the ORHF website. |
