Remarks & Notes
This is the interior of L&N's Shop 17--the running repair facility built for diesels at its South Louisville Shops complex. Two F7As--824 and 811, coupled--are in for traction motor attention. In the two bays to their left are E7s and E6s, which are taking a brief respite from duties pulling the Pan-American, the Humming Bird and other notable L&N "varnish" runs. This facility was demolished several years ago to make way for the Pappa John football stadium of the University of Louisville. (L&N Photo)
