Remarks & Notes
In perhaps the only location in the world that you can photograph a train through a natural arch, Union Pacific’s Potash local heads north into Bootlegger Canyon on May 12, 2006. This train normally operates in the morning, so this late afternoon departure from Potash is rare. Corona Arch is huge, having an opening that is 105 feet high and 140 feet wide. Reportedly, a local pilot has even flown his plane through the opening! The short 8-car train is small; but in Utah’s canyon country, the scenery is BIG!

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
