| After a particularly heavy and wet snow fall over the region, CSX has dispatched a tracked backhoe on a flat car--shoved ahead of the power--to clear numerous fallen trees from the Cumberland Valley Sub main line between Loyall, KY and Big Stone Gap, VA. At Smiley--the lower leg of the famed switchback at Hagans, VA--the power is running around to position itself for the shove south (or east, by compass direction). |
