| Remarks & Notes |
| New York New Haven & Hartford. The crew of New Haven 3025 couples to one of the line's box cars, prior to spotting it in front of the Dickinson Witch Hazel facility in the Essex Yard. As is often the case even today, spotting cars on little-used spurs or sidings that serve industry can be a hazardous operation that railroaders don't take lightly. Tight clearances and/or poorly maintained track could easily ruin the crew's day if proper care were not exercised. Even this re-creation for the 2012 Lerro Productions Charter was not without hazards. The rails on this storage track are often nearly buried in the dirt road that they follow, meaning the train will do a bit of its own flanging as it backs to the Dickinson facility. The curve ahead is also rather tight, adding to the potential to put wheels on the ground. Fortunately, other than getting soaking wet in the nearly continuous rain, there were no problems this day. |
