One of the last remaining class Ae6/6, the classic Gottard "Kantonslokomotive", so called as the first 26 were named after each of the Swiss cantons (regions). It's seeing out it's final days on a freight service heading for Zürich, Switzerland's largest city. When the locomotive entered service, the driver pictured had not been born. Although many of the Ae6/6s were repainted through their life, this one has retained the original green livery. Less than 30 examples now remain out of the original 120 locomotives, and they are due for withdrawal in the near future.
