Remarks & Notes
Pushin' south at Chester Creek. New Haven Railroad 3025 puts some muscle behind a heavy passenger consist, as she works south across the Chester Creek Bridge on a sunny spring afternoon. It's an almost believable story, but the operation depicted here is actually the Valley Railroad's regular 3:30 PM Excursion Train. After running tender-first to Hadlyme Station, the train is now backing up to Deep River Station as per standard operating procedure. With Valley Railroad power normally facing north, this back-up move isn't typically a particularly interesting shot. When I heard that 3025 would temporarily be facing south however, I couldn't resist the temptation to get a rare shot of her in "pusher service".
