The Red Eye Ride With the average time of travel from LA to Barstow on the BNSF tracks is about five to six hours long; this crew has a long night ahead of them. They have been on duty since about 8PM and now they're stopped at Fullerton at 9:30PM. It's still about 5 hours ride till Barstow and that's with out traffic. So, the ETA for the BNSF 7241 east into Barstow would be about 2AM ish. The crew of this Clovis bound stack train gets ready to leave the station after waiting for a work gang to clear the mainline ahead.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
