| Remarks & Notes |
| Employees of Canadian Pacific Railway's US subsidiary, SOO Line Railroad Company, have begun the process of moving out of the company's traditional home at the 1915 vintage SOO Line Building and into a more modern office building on the same block. This past week, train dispatching functions were relocated to the new building, which is being christened Canadian Pacific Plaza. CP Plaza is modern, comfortable and probably more appropriate for a 21st Century company and CP has obviously spared no expense in its design and appointments. That being said, the old SLB will be missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to have spent time there. Here's one last look at our old office taken at 0512 (the clocks are set to Eastern Standard) early on a Saturday morning in March of 2007. 3rd Trick D&H North DS Kellie Rice has two hours left in her shift as she enjoys a brief moment of quiet on the railroad. 16 floors below the office, the streets of Minneapolis have likewise quieted down now that the Friday night bar crowd has dispersed and headed for home.
So long SLB, you will be missed. |
