| The upper five miles of Rio Grande's Bingham Branch were abandoned more than a decade ago. This section of right of way is now being utilized as a high tension power line corridor. Crews have installed a new power pole right on top of the track in this view at the Bacchus Highway crossing near Copperton, Utah. Kennecott Copper's Bingham Canyon Mine is visible in the distance, the terminus of this branch that once hosted solid sets of D&RGW SD7s and 9s and GP30s. |
