| The Seneca, SC Fire Department responds to a train - truck collision into the wee hours of the morning on March 4, 2012. At approximately 11:00PM, on March 3rd, the northbound Amtrak Crescent careered into a stalled pickup truck at on the railroad tracks north of Seneca, SC. The occupants of the truck had just gotten out after they realized their vehicle had broken down. The train arrived on the scene within 60 seconds, according to the occupants. There were no injuries. The train was carrying passengers from New Orleans, LA to New York, NY. The truck was pulled from the tracks and the lead locomotive set off in Norfolk Southern's yard tracks in Seneca, SC, before eventually continuing it's journey north around 3:30 AM, 5 hours and 13 minutes late.
