| Remarks & Notes |
| Amtrak's Northeast Corridor is widely known for being the busiest passenger rail corridor in the United States. Uncharacteristic of busy rail corridors is the stretch of track between New Haven, CT and Westerly, RI, where the right of way parallels the shores of Long Island Sound and offers dramatic views rivaled by those only seen on the Pacific Coast. Here, a Boston-bound Acela Express runs along the water, passing through Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic, CT.
