In the early 1980's, RF&P eliminated the 11:00 PM-7:00 AM shift at its Bryan Park Terminal locomotive shop. The forces working the evening shift would line up any consists requested by the RF&P and SCL dispatchers before leaving at 11:00 PM. They only movements on the locomotive side at night were crews taking out sets of power. This made it a pretty quiet place. I took the opportunity on several occasions to do some night photography, letting the Car Foreman know in advance what I was doing. On Dec. 6, 1986, RF&P GP40 No. 126 and GP40-2 No. 146 were set up to lead consists for northbound trains that would be operated during the night. By this time, CSX influence was being seen, explaining the C&O B30-7 in the background.
