Remarks & Notes
Grand Central Terminal serves over 700,000 commuters every work day. It is the main station for the USA's largest commuter railroad, Metro-North. Surprising to me, GCT is the sixth most popular tourist spot in the world with at least 21.6 million of them coming here every year. Celebrating it's centenary in 2013, GCT was saved from demolition in the '70s' s and restored in the late '90's. The eagle is from the original Grand Central Depot and is a recent addition. The world famous Chrysler building, finished in 1930, watches over it all. Grand Central Terminal is one of the gems of New York and I feel privileged to have seen it frequently throughout my life. A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
