| Remarks & Notes |
| Red at night, railfans' delight. An incredible sunset provided a spectacular end to an incredible day spent by a group of Northwesterners on BNSF's Needles Sub on February 25th. This was my first visit to the Transcon, and I had certainly never before photographed over 30 trains in a day (I'm much more of a quality vs. quantity photographer), so I was thoroughly blown away by the amount of traffic BNSF runs across the desert. With the sun having ducked below the horizon and lighting the clouds from below, an eastbound stack train glides down Goffs Hill towards Needles, less than a half-hour away from being able to tie up and head for dinner -- just like this group of railfans was about to do. |
