| Progress Rail Services PR22B is one of two Gensets testing on the Q. I like the component configuration of this beastie--the Caterpillar power units and the dynamic brake unit are all in separate "crates" on the frame. The PR22B is powered by three C18 Caterpillar diesels capable of providing 2235 horsepower turning D77 traction motors. A 20-40% fuel savings is projected over the use of traditional switchers. |
