| Derailment...The Clean Up: CSX Q616 derailed in the early morning hours (approx. 4am EST) on March 8th, 2012. 27 cars hit the ground, but the 3 lead units along with 3 cars escaped without damage. The derailment lead to a 1/2 mile evacuation as there was hazmat cars involved, but nothing harzardous leaked thankfully. Here we see some CSX crews guiding a Bulldozer away from the derailment scene which some of the wreckage can be seen scattered all around. |
