| The "rainbow era" had officially begun on CSX on Oct. 16, 1987 when No. 137 was climbing up Sand Patch Grade at Mance, PA, led by SBD SD40-2 No. 8196. Actually, the 8196 was half of a two unit head end helper assisting the train. I really liked the Seaboard System paint scheme, so to me at least, it was a pleasant surprise. |
