UP local backing out of their yard in Springfield,IL, past the control point formally known as Ridgely. Ridgely Tower, the last true Armstrong lever interlocking tower in the United States, at the time of the photo had been out of service for just over 2 weeks, as it used to control the interlocking/diamond between the UP and I&M here in Springfield, IL. The tower was sadly demolished on August 8, 2011.
