| In the prewar years, one could easily confuse this area along Miramar Hill for Cajon Pass. For the most part it was nothing but wilderness and actually had as many as five locomotives stationed at the summit for helper service. Obviously, both the railroad and SoCal have come along way since then, although this Coastliner still slows down significantly for the grade. |
