Protecting the junction of the original Huntington & Broad Top Mountain Railroad (H&BTM) connecting to the PRR mainline at Huntingdon, this uniquely designed PRR CPL signal stands, slowly being camouflaged by the ever growing weeds and brush. To our surprise, upon the clearing of a westbound intermodal, the signal illuminated, displaying a 'stop aspect' for movements approaching the junction. Conrail operated over the branch line in the 1990's to access an industry on the west side of the river. Inactive for nearly two decades, evident by trees and brush growing within the ROW, it puts into perspective how reliable and durable the vintage signalling system remains.
