| This shot shows that the track structure still needs attention. During the time of this photo, Conrail was installing continuous welded ribbon rail from Boston to Selkirk. You can see the ribbonous condition of the track which will soon change. In the meantime there will be a period of track warrants and shutdowns. The stalwart SD40-2 helper on the right is safely idleing in the pocket awaiting the next westbound. |
