| Southern Pacific GP9 3756 and Cotton Belt GP35 6650 are on the head-end of a West Colton to Los Angeles local as it rounds the balloon track to reverse direction after departing West Colton Yard in Bloomington, California, on March 25, 1978. (All trains depart this yard eastbound, with the westbounds taking advantage of the balloon track.) In the background another freight can be seen crossing over from the Sunset Route to the Palmdale Cutoff to head over Cajon Pass and Tehachapi on its way to northern California. |
