| Ridgeley, WV 6/30/2008 - Restoring Western Maryland's GP-9 number 25 to its original paint scheme was a labor of love and meticulous processes by a group railfans and the shop crews of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Preferring to paint the locomotive with the techniques of the 1960s to acheive the highest authenticity in restoring it to the WM colors, stencils were made by hand and the lettering masked with tape before being painted with brushes and spray tools. WM 25 is seen just after its Chessis System colors were stripped off, and the hand made stencils being checked for placement and accuracy. |
