| Six days before Amtrak would take over most of the remaining intercity passenger service in the US, Penn Central southbound NYC-Washington Metroliner 109 cruises through a reverse curve north of Monmouth Junction. The train is overtaking a GG1-powered "clocker." See photo 155343 for a 'before' view.
