Once upon a time in the Wyoming coal fields the term comfort cab referred to a taxi with air conditioning. Back in those second generation days power was made up of a huge amount of SD40-2's, C30-7's and U30C's, Normally at least 5 were assigned to a train and the sound of all that horsepower minus the noise and pollution requirements of today's units was nothing short of incredible. This shot has has 7 units lifting a 115 car load up Walker Hill. From front to back we have BN 5592, 5392, 8166, KCS 658, BN 5567,7265, and 7866 for a total of 21,000hp. The racket has startled a bird which is caught in mid flight above the third unit.
