| A cold, dreary February morning in 1973 finds 2 SCL SD45's passing Gill, NC (just south of Henderson, NC) handling the first section of No. 188, operating as Extra 2035 North. No. 188 operated daily between Hamlet, NC and Richmond, Va. and usually ran in 2 (or more) sections, frequently doing short haul or "cleanup" work on line-of-road. |
