Old Santa Fe type signals are soon going to be a thing of the past. The BNSF signal gang is working hard to replace these old search light signal bridges and cantilevers on the Marceline Sub. Here a westbound Z-train is about to blast thru West Medill as the night sky circles around the north star for a 20 minute exposure on a brisk morning.
Nearly 3,000 photos (and growing) that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of the railroad world because most of us are asleep. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And - I'm still finding lights to "switch on"!)
