| The railroad crosses over a bend in the Skykomish River at a place just east of Goldbar.  Fishermen and foamers know it as "Big Eddy", where the water swirls in a wide spot.  The dirt train had trouble initially getting out of Gold Bar, the end of the train was still tied down.  Luckily a track inspector on the scene was there to help get her on the move.  Note the old bridge support. |
