| Here you see the result my second night of flash shooting; a not too bad shot of NHRR's pretty Baldwin No. 40. But perhaps the real story is for the first time in a lifetime of photography, this is the first shot I have ever done while blood was streaming down over my shooting eye. Seconds before, my foot caught a fallen branch and in a blink down I went and up came a pointed rock. About to vanish into the night was a month of planning and equipment procurement. This, coupled with the fact this was the last night running until next Christmas compelled me to stand up and pull the trigger. Fortunately I was not alone and we did go to the hospital soon after; I got seven stitches. I now can stand as living proof that foaming is not for wussies because I got the shot. |
