New Hope and Ivyland's #40 makes her presence known en route to Lahaska during a special series of night time excursions in December of 2011. Having long ago captured #40 here at daytime, I was really looking forward to a night time variant. Fellow railfan photographer, Jeff Smith was on hand and also liked the idea. Together, we elected to pull our resources, and, after working out most of the details with temperamental equipment (flash #6 up the road failed to fire), we each managed to get the shot as seen.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
