| Early piggyback (or "Tote," as it was known on the L&N): Northbound "Tote"/autorack train 44 (running extra, here, since it was slightly ahead of schedule) stands at Corbin's passenger station for a crew change in 1964. The U25Bs became preferred power for this run (and southbound counterpart 45) during the '60s. Note the set-off baggage car for railway express shipments. Corbin was still served, then, by nightly trains 17 and 18 running between Cincinnati and Atlanta. |
