Nothing quite evoked the word 'atmosphere' as much as when the great wooden barn doors were opened for us at Huludao MPD to reveal this glorious sight. The soft sighing of locomotives in light steam, the and the diamond sparkling of dust particles in the shafts of sunlight streaming in from the high windows quite literally transported me to another time. Yes, there were also cables to trip over, grease to slip on, pits to fall into and heavy, unforgiving coupling rods on which to stub your toes - simply amazing! If you think my words are waxing lyrical, then I admit only to understatement and hope that my camera portrays but a little of that wonderful, wonderful place.
