Being a self professed Alco lover, I always dreamed of seeing a lash-up of big six-axle units in action. Being from Virginia didn't help. There were random sightings on SCL and N&W, and occasional sightings on some trips to PC, but never a solid lash-up. My dream came true on the D&H. On Sept, 12, 1976, three C628s were getting the swing on things as the dropped downgrade into Ninevah Junction, NY with a northbound manifest.
