| Snap, Crackle and Pop
As the temperature drops, so does the length of rail and the above picture is usually the result. “Pull-aparts” can happen anywhere on the rail, but usually end up at the weakest point which in some cases is the weld. With a MoW crew on the way, soon this rail will be heated up with fire and expanded back in place. Photo taken with permission.
