Remarks & Notes
Snowy departure at Sheepscot. Although the weather in Maine during December of 2011 has hardly been winter-like, the WW&F's Victorian Christmas event was treated to an unforecast, early morning snow. Train operations were not scheduled to kick off until 11 AM, but even with the snow, there were passengers lining up on the platform over an hour before that time. Rather than having folks lining up in the street, the WW&F Trainmaster made the call that with people on the platform and the train ready to go, they'd begin at 10AM and turn the trains at either end of the line as quickly as possible. In this scene shot from the north end of the Sheepscot Yard, Engineer Robert "Bullet Bob" Longo opens the cylinder cocks and the first of over a dozen trains departs for Alna Center in very dramatic fashion.
