| The 1987 L&N Historical Society convention in Corbin, KY featured a memorable night shot where the High Line crossed the CV Sub main. The convention was held in October, but two months earlier, Garland McKee, Dave Oroszi, David DeVault and I headed to Corbin to do a test shot (all with Seaboard System's full cooperation and support of course). The top units are two old SDs (the front one is ex-L&N SD35 1206, and the second an SDP35) working the north end of the East Yard, while the SD50s below were being hostled before taking a coal train south on the KD Sub. The scene was illuminated with good old fashioned flash bulbs. |
