| Remarks & Notes |
| A full frontal view of the classic lines of an Alco FA-2. The 306 was clobbered in a memorable derailment at Artemus, KY during a protracted labor dispute on the L&N in 1955. Vandals lined a main line switch against a northbound coal train, led by the 306, and it struck a standing cut of stored hopper cars, with predictably bad results. It was rebuilt, however, and spent many more years lugging tonnage for the "Old Reliable." |
