| Two days ago I posted a picture taken on Cumbres in September 1964, and here is one taken almost exactly 47 years later. The "485" switches at Cumbres on a Lerro charter. This is actually the C&TS ex-DRGW 489 as given away by the number on the rear of the tender, it had been renumbered for the event. The real 485 fell into the Salida turntable pit and was scrapped in the 1950's. I like this backlit afternoon view looking down the valley toward Chama. |
