An old spur track from the Chicago & Alton Railroad that once led to the depot in the background is said to be the oldest Depot in Illinois. On May 5, 1865, Lincolns funeral train made an attempt to stop at the depot. It is now slated for Demolition after failed attempts to preserve it. The track is now owned by the Union Pacific and is the route for the 110 mph high speed rail link from Chicago to St Louis
