Remarks & Notes
West Portal Cascade Tunnel; What sometimes looks like a worm hole straight out of Star Trek or a time travel portal is the powerful headlights of a westbound locomotive highlighting the condensing air as it cools on exit from the tunnel on BNSF's fastest route through the Cascades - or under at this location. An approach signal greets this train casting a yellow over red glow on the snow.

A LOT of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, and seldom seen beauty of the railroad world because most of us are asleep. From dusk-to-dawn the lights are on! (Lights are still being "switched on"!)
