| Remarks & Notes |
| I seemed to have the inordinate misfortune of photographing a high-proportion of trains on BC Rail in 1979-81 let by one of the relatively-rare M630W's on the roster. I didn't really care how rare these were--all I knew is that they were far less attractive, to me at least, than the 21 standard-cab C and M630s. There were only 8 of 'em--723-730--acquired in 1973 as the last of BCOL's six-motor Alco-powered locomotives. On a cloudy spring day, #725 leads two normal cabbed 630s and an M420B (another unfortunate MLW design) around the horseshoe curve at Pavillion, looping back to climb away from the Fraser River canyon. Sixty-six cars trail the all-MLW power consist. |
