Farewell Lehigh Valley: The month stamped on this slide is May 1976, but the consist indicates the picture was taken prior to Conrail. On April 1st, GP38AC 310 became the property of Conrail, but GP38-2 317 and it's two brethren joined the roster of the Delaware and Hudson. Although they followed a different, both 310 and 317 are still around today, #310 as NS GP38-2 rebuild 5655 and 317 as D&H GP38-2 7303. This was my last photograph of my favorite railroad on the Sunday prior to C-day. I was only in 1st grade at the time and had to go to school in the last three days of the Lehigh Valley!
