The 2nd daily D&S Passenger train led by engine # 481 pauses on the Silverton wye while the 1st daily train led by engine # 482 heads south and returns to Durango. At an elevation of 9305 feet, the weather in Silverton during the month of September can range from warm sunny days with temperatures in the low 70's to mixed run and snow as seen here.
