HURRICANE/TROPICAL STORM IRENE AFTERMATH IN VERMONT: Mud and debris clutter the rails at this grade crossing in Sunderland, Vermont along Vermont Railway's Bennington & Rutland Subdivision in wake of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene. At the time of this posting, Vermont Rail System had already re-opened its line from Rutland, VT to Whitehall, NY, however this line--along with the Green Mountain Subdivision--were still in need of major repairs.
