HURRICANE/TROPICAL STORM IRENE DAMAGE IN NEW YORK: This was the scene along Pan Am Southern's freight main at North Petersburgh, NY in wake of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene. Shortly after this photo was taken, a work train showed-up and began dumping ballast here. By the end of the day, crews had filled-in this entire area, with tamping being the only work remaining to be done.
