Remarks & Notes
Westbound, Ex-New Haven C-425 and U25B, renumbered Penn Central 2458 and 2681, move from the Shoreline to the Naugatuck route via the east leg of the wye at Devon Tower. Train is enroute to Maybrook on a typical april day. The heavy gray clouds are coming off the ocean blocking all sun and putting a chill in the air. The two rebuilt RS-3's will help as far as Danbury, where the will be set out to work local freight. The General will be shooting many New Haven shots over the next few months. New Haven Paint liveries are disapearing fast.

Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
