| As common as the LMS 'Black 5s' are in preservation (no less than 17 survive), they always make wonderful subjects for the photographer. They are a beautifully proportioned and purposeful locomotive. Heading into the late evening sun, if a black livery can be said to 'glow', then glow it certainly does on 44932. I love this location, but the sadistic effects of a myriad of biting insects and stinging nettles still linger to remind me that a little suffering often goes hand-in-hand with pleasure! |
